Our Wartime History WWII Timeline section aims to provide a rich and varied source of information on the various campaigns fought during World War Two and the dates on which they took place.
We link biographies on the key individuals involved in this conflict to the times and places they occurred. Teachers and students have commented how the situation is brought to life when connected to real lives , not infrequently of people from towns and cities they know, supported by photographic images and documents, letters & etc produced at the time.
We have rich resources at the Centre from which we can draw and plan to incorporate many aspects on these pages, including the Centre’s collection of artwork, with special features, initially on the Home Front and the role of the WRNS.
